Planner - Transportation

About This Role

Planning and scheduling are at the heart of this role, helping major infrastructure projects move from ambition to achievable delivery. You will provide project teams with a clear view of what needs to happen, when it needs to happen, and where delivery could be put, connecting design, engineering, procurement, and construction activities. This role suits an experienced planner or someone with strong scheduling skills developed through project management or engineering, who can understand how projects come together.

Responsibilities

• Help major infrastructure projects move from ambition to achievable delivery
• Give project teams a clear view of what needs to happen, when it needs to happen, and where delivery could be put
• Help teams make better decisions before delays become problems
• Bring structure to complex programmes
• Challenge unclear assumptions
• Turn large volumes of project information into plans that people can understand and act on
• Support project leaders and clients to manage dependencies, understand the critical path, assess the effect of change, and maintain confidence in delivery
• Build and challenge integrated programmes
• Identify dependencies and emerging risks
• Use Primavera P6, critical-path analysis, and schedule forecasting to improve delivery confidence
• Directly support project leaders and clients as they make decisions on priorities, change, and programme performance

Requirements

• Practical experience of planning, scheduling, or project delivery within infrastructure, engineering, construction, or another relevant major-project environment
• Leading end-to-end schedule development on high-profile infrastructure projects using Primavera P6
• Ability to break complex activities into clear sequences, milestones, and dependencies
• Confidence to question assumptions and identify risks, gaps, or inconsistencies within a programme
• Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain schedule information to people who are not planning specialists
• Collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships with project teams and stakeholders
