About This Role
The Pipeline Laborer works as part of a crew responsible for tasks related to underground utilities in residential and commercial areas. This role suits individuals who can perform heavy manual labor and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Assist crew leader in construction, reconstruction, and maintenance work.
- Assist equipment operators, swamping, hand digging, and locating underground obstructions.
- Work with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners, and other necessary tools.
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Work safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and dump trucks.
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
- Complete duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent desired.
- Experience working with underground utilities desired.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift.
- Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling.
- Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team with co-workers.
- Ability to pass motor vehicle and criminal background checks and comply with drug-free workplace policy.
- English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports.
- Willingness and ability to learn additional skills.
Benefits
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
