Pipefitter

About This Role

This Pipefitter role offers the opportunity to join an on-site construction team for one month, working at a remote camp location near Fort MacKay, Alberta. You will be contributing to the Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System. The position involves a 21-days-on, 7-days-off rotation with 10-hour workdays.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
• Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
• Select type and size of pipe required
• Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
• Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
• Hydrotest system for leaks using testing equipment
• Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
• Other duties as required

Requirements

• Apprentice up to and including Journeyperson Red Seal level
• Strong technical knowledge and proven experience in pipefitting
• Experience in an industrial setting required
• Knowledge and experience with industrial construction and operations
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to clearly communicate with all levels of a project organization

Important Details

• Schedule: 21 days on and 7 days off rotation, 10-hour days
• Travel: fly-in, fly-out from Edmonton, Alberta or Calgary, Alberta will be available based on eligibility

• Successful clearance of applicable pre-employment checks is required, which may include Criminal Background/Police Information check, Drug & Alcohol test, Reference checks, and submittal of Provincial Driver’s Abstract
