About This Role

This role involves installing mechanical equipment and piping systems, requiring a basic understanding of blueprints, measurements, and job specifications. The technician will work with various valves, diffusers, and pumps to build complete piping systems. It suits a moderately mechanically apt problem-solver who can follow instructions and ensure quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Understand job specifications, blueprint reading, target point measurements, and torque requirements for large industrial piping systems
• Possess hands-on, basic working knowledge of equipment/piping center lines and work points
• Install various valves, suction diffusers, guides, circuit setters, expansion tanks, pumps, chillers, automatic air vents, and pressure regulators to create a complete piping system
• Understand all forms of piping system hangers, supports, and braces, from temporary installation through jam nut completion
• Account for completion of daily work assignments while monitoring quality, safety, and health regulations
• Document all quality reporting methods employed by SEA Quality Standards
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts, adhering to industry standard practices of safe rigging systems and techniques
• Safely and efficiently direct and monitor two or more helpers
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
• Be physically and medically qualified to wear required PPE per OSHA standards
• Possess basic knowledge of pneumatic and hydro processes for 150psi testing, inspections, and safety procedures
• Prepare for ISO 9001 and other audits

Requirements

• Basic math and language skills
• Knowledge of threading, grinding, beveling, welding, rigging, plasma cutting, and gas arc cutting
• Minimum of 1-2 years related experience or training
• Authorized to work in the USA
