Role Overview

The Physiotherapist will assess, plan, and implement physiotherapy interventions for children with special needs, including developmental delays, motor coordination challenges, neurological conditions, and physical disabilities. The clinician will work closely with families, caregivers, and a multidisciplinary team to promote functional mobility, strength, coordination, and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pediatric physiotherapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Support children with motor development, gait training, balance, coordination, strength, and functional mobility
  • Implement evidence‑based interventions for children with neurological, developmental, or physical challenges
  • Collaborate with caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary clinicians
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress notes
  • Provide home‑program recommendations and caregiver education
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development
  • Ensure a safe, supportive, child‑centered therapy environment

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy
  • Current registration and good standing with the College of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC)
  • Experience working with children, neurodiverse populations, or special needs is strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and clinical reasoning skills
  • Ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse developmental and physical needs
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening
