Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Bloomfield, CT Job Type: Full-Time | Onsite
Work Schedule : Rotating 2-week schedule shared with another Physician Assistant.
Position Overview We are seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join a busy Urgent Care practice . The provider will deliver urgent care and occupational health services , including pre-employment and DOT physicals , while working collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff.
The ideal candidate should have strong clinical skills in acute care, patient assessment, and treatment planning , and be comfortable caring for pediatric and adult patients in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient evaluations, medical histories, and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and treat acute conditions and injuries in an urgent care setting.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans.
- Provide wound care, medication administration, and minor procedures.
- Conduct occupational health services, including pre-employment and DOT physicals.
- Educate patients on treatment plans and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and complete encounter notes within 24 hours.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Active Connecticut Physician Assistant License required.
- Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) required.
- Federal DEA License required.
- DOT Medical Examiner Certification required.
- CPR and AED Certification required.
- Spanish-speaking ability preferred.
- Urgent care or acute care experience preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience preferred, though new graduates may be considered.
