Womack, we are a fully accredited 110-bed, evidenced-based regional medical center and GME facility serving Fort Liberty, the home of Airborne and Special Operations and the largest U.S. Army installation in the world. We manage several outstanding Primary Care practice sites located in Fort Liberty, Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and Linden Oaks.

Womack is located in Fayetteville, Fort Liberty which is 2 hours from the beach and 5 hours from the Appalachian Mountains with easy access to I-95 and all points north and south. This central North Carolina location enjoys seasonably palatable weather year-round. Many facilities and services are offered such as first-class golfing venues and renowned universities, a skeet range, riding stables, ice skating rink, state-of-the-art fitness centers, daycare, star-quality dining, full-service banking, convenience shop, barbershop, and florist.

Responsibilities As a Physician Anesthesiologist you will:

  • Provide contemporary regional and general anesthesia care including pediatric, geriatric patients; obstetric anesthesia; and anesthesia for all surgical specialties at the MTF in a variety of surgical patients.
  • Perform the most advanced diagnostic and treatment procedures without professional direction.
  • Assignments involve the full range of cases and problems including the very difficult.
  • Administer anesthesia to patients whose condition poses a particular anesthetic difficulty.
  • Serve as consultant for the administration of anesthesia by nurse anesthetist.
  • Administer appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic nerve blocks in the treatment of acute and chronic pain.
  • Oversee the activities of the recovery room and administer appropriate drug and respiratory therapy in the recovery room setting.
  • Serve as adjunct faculty of the U.S. Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing Phase II.
  • Responsible for the nursing anesthesia staff, nursing anesthesia students.
  • Supervise, teach, and counsel medical students, resident physicians, and dental fellows rotating through the Anesthesiology Service in the proper administration of anesthesia.
  • Assume a teaching role in the student anesthetist program.
  • Help direct and administrate the responsibilities of the Anesthesia and Operative Services.
  • Coordinate the Operating Room Services with physicians, nurses, and technicians.

Qualifications US Citizenship required.

Board Certified/Eligible.

Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
