About This Role
As a Physical Therapy Technician, you will work under the general direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist or licensed physical therapist assistant. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a healthcare setting, contributing to the growth of a company that values caregivers.
Responsibilities
- Maintain order of treatment room and sanitation of therapeutic equipment after patient use to ensure quality customer service.
- Instruct, motivate, and assist patients on proper form and execution of functional activities and therapeutic exercises.
- Record patient progress for the physical therapist.
- Assist in monitoring patients through treatment sessions and report to the therapist.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, filing charts, and collecting co-pays.
- Administer and remove moist heat/cold packs and electrical stimulation.
- Maintain standards of care and ethical conduct when treating patients' caseload in the office.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- Willingness to travel to other office locations.
Requirements
- Experience in a healthcare or exercise field is preferred but not required.
- Athletic trainer experience is a plus.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining a positive, friendly attitude.
- Attention to detail and strong customer service skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy.
- Exposure to various healthcare settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, or orthopedic facilities.
- Understanding of acute care and inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation processes.
- Strong communication skills, including writing, speaking, and active listening.
- Team player with an understanding of industry-specific policies and HIPAA regulations for healthcare.
