Physical Therapy Technician

About This Role

The Physical Therapy Technician provides support to the Physical Therapy Department by assisting in the set-up of treatments, clean-up, supervision, and transporting of patients to and from the department. This role is essential for maintaining a smooth and efficient therapy environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the supervision and implementation of therapeutic exercise routines under the supervision of the Physical Therapist and following prescribed course of exercises by the therapist
• Responsible for the application of ice and heat as well as removal of modalities including electrical stimulation after treatment
• Responsible for transporting patients from their patient rooms to the therapy department to receive their treatment by the Physical Therapist
• Perform wheelchair transfers safely
• Recognize changes in patient status and report to the treating Physical Therapist and/or nursing staff
• Participate in the Therapy Department quality control internal audits
• Responsible for organizing patient treatment times with the treating Physical Therapist
• Responsible for organizing, stocking, and cleaning the work area

Requirements

• Associate's degree in related field required
• No prior experience required

Nice to have:

• 1-2 years of Physical Therapy (PT) Technician experience

Important Details

• Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8 hour clinic days
