About This Role
This physical therapy technician role in an outpatient clinic is for a customer service-oriented, dynamic, and energetic individual. The successful candidate will join a team focused on patient recovery and contribute to a supportive, family-like environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for physical therapy treatment by welcoming, comforting, and assisting them into the physical therapy area
- Provide information to patients by answering questions and requests
- Help treat patients by applying cold/heat packs, ESU; assisting patients onto exercise equipment; monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; performing PT prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques
- Educate patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines
- Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Provide equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering them to the treatment area; positioning equipment for therapist access; positioning patients on equipment
- Perform light daily cleaning duties
- Update job knowledge by continued learning on the job; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
