About the role
Role Overview: The Physical Therapy Assistant collaborates with physical therapists to develop and implement programs aimed at restoring or improving patients' mobility, strength, coordination, and range of motion. Services are delivered across the continuum of care in a cost-effective, high-quality, and patient-focused manner, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans under therapist guidance and select appropriate activities to meet patient goals.
- Revise care plans collaboratively with therapists, patients, and families.
- Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and referrals to community resources.
- Document each treatment session accurately, adhering to departmental protocols.
- Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, punctuality, and proper attire.
- Communicate effectively with team members, participate in meetings, and organize workload efficiently.
- Promote a positive environment, apply customer service principles, and foster teamwork.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, complete required competencies, and assist in training new staff.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy or related field; high school diploma required.
- Licensure as a PTA and BLS certification upon hire.
- Effective communication, customer service focus, team orientation, and basic computer skills.
