Role Overview Evaluates and treats patients of all ages, developing and adjusting personalized care plans based on patient response and evidence. Acts as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students, ensuring safe body mechanics and respectful, empathetic patient interactions. Performs examinations, determines diagnoses, and monitors therapy outcomes, documenting all activities accordingly.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs and modifies treatment plans to meet patient goals and discharge criteria.
- Educates patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare teams using effective teaching methods.
- Performs clinical assessments, including range of motion, strength, and functional tests.
- Utilizes therapeutic modalities, supports patient transfers, and applies supportive techniques like taping.
- Coordinates with providers on patient progress and therapy recommendations.
- Supervises support personnel, ensuring quality care and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Completes documentation, billing, and compliance with clinical policies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Licensed Physical Therapist with valid state licensure.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and patient education skills.
- Knowledge of therapeutic modalities, patient safety, and documentation standards.
