About the role
Role Overview Provides physical therapy interventions to patients under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). Assists in monitoring patient progress through observations, documentation, and follow-up with the PT. Works within the scope of practice for a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), including modifying treatment plans, managing caseloads, and participating in team meetings. Travels to patients' homes and facilities to deliver care, assisting with therapeutic activities, transfers, and use of medical equipment. Ensures care complies with organizational policies and safety standards.
Qualifications
- NY State Certification as a PTA
- Associate’s Degree from an approved program
- Minimum of two years of clinical patient care experience
- Valid driver’s license may be required
- Bilingual skills and basic PC skills preferred
Key Duties
- Follow PT care plans and document all care
- Assist in patient assessments and modifications
- Support patients with therapeutic activities and equipment
- Participate in meetings and special projects
- Maintain infection control and safety standards
