Responsibilities
- Design and deliver creative physical education lessons tailored to various learning styles and developmental levels
- Implement curriculum plans that align with educational standards and promote physical literacy among students
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe, respectful, and motivating environment
- Incorporate educational technology and learning management systems (LMS) to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and participation in physical activities
- Collaborate with faculty to develop cross-disciplinary lessons integrating health education, literacy, math, and social skills
- Maintain compliance with educational regulations and safety standards in all physical activities
Requirements
- Proven experience teaching physical education with a focus on childhood development and motor skills enhancement
- Strong classroom management skills combined with behavior management expertise
- Ability to integrate educational technology tools such as LMS platforms and learning software into lessons
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and faculty collaboration
- Knowledge of curriculum development, implementation, and assessment techniques in physical education
- Understanding of educational compliance standards related to health, safety, and activity regulations
- Must possess a valid Florida Department of Education teaching certificate in Physical Education (K-12)
