Leading development projects from understanding requirements to successful delivery is at the core of this role, which also involves developing, optimizing, and maintaining applications. The position is for an experienced, solution-oriented PHP developer with strong expertise across modern PHP frameworks and platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage PHP development projects from requirement understanding to successful delivery
- Develop, review, optimize, and maintain applications using Core PHP and Laravel
- Work extensively with WordPress, including custom themes, plugins, integrations, and performance optimization
- Handle Shopify development and integrations, including customizations, APIs, and third-party integrations
- Analyze existing applications, identify technical issues, and provide effective and scalable solutions
- Review code and ensure adherence to coding standards, security, performance, and best practices
- Guide and mentor junior and mid-level PHP developers
- Participate in technical discussions, requirement analysis, estimation, and solution design
- Work closely with Project Managers, clients, and other technical teams to understand requirements and resolve technical challenges
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and ensure timely resolution
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies
- Ensure applications are secure, scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance
- Take ownership of technical decisions and provide recommendations based on project requirements
- Stay updated with the latest PHP technologies, frameworks, development practices, and industry trends
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in PHP development
- Strong hands-on experience with Core PHP
- Strong experience with Laravel
- Good expertise in WordPress development, including custom plugins and themes
- Hands-on experience with Shopify development and integrations
- Strong understanding of PHP, OOP, MVC architecture, APIs, and third-party integrations
- Good knowledge of MySQL/database concepts and query optimization
- Experience with Git/version control systems
- Understanding of web application security, performance optimization, and debugging
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to independently analyze problems and propose practical solutions
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote/team environment
