The ideal candidate is a seasoned phlebotomist and proven leader who thrives in a dynamic lab environment, takes independent initiative, and excels at streamlining workflow. You will play a crucial role in optimizing patient care pathways, stepping in for complex blood draws, managing add-on lab kit requests, and maintaining strong interdepartmental coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise, mentor, and support a team of 7 phlebotomists, fostering a collaborative, efficient, and patient-centered working environment.
  • Floor & Workflow Management:
Serve as the hands-on leader on the clinical floor, optimizing patient pathways and resolving daily workflow bottlenecks independently.
  • Clinical Support:
Step in to perform difficult blood draws and manage complex, specialized lab kits or add-on requests as needed.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
Coordinate daily space and workflow shared with standard-of-care patient services and adjacent laboratory teams.
  • Quality & Compliance:
Maintain high standards of lab safety, sample integrity, patient care, and compliance with clinical protocols.
  • Problem Solving:
Proactively address operational challenges, handle patient escalations, and streamline laboratory processes without requiring constant oversight.

Required Qualifications

  • Certification:
Valid Phlebotomy Certification (CPT, CPT-I, or national equivalent required).
  • Leadership Experience:
Minimum 5 years of management or supervisory experience leading a team in a healthcare or laboratory setting.
  • Clinical Experience:
Minimum 5 years of direct, hands-on phlebotomy experience (open to diverse backgrounds, including mobile phlebotomy, provided leadership strength is demonstrated).
  • Technical Skill:
Advanced skill in venipuncture techniques, difficult draws, and laboratory kit preparation/processing.
  • Soft Skills:
Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong communication, high self-initiative, and a calm demeanor under pressure.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive Compensation:
Hourly rate equivalent to $70K/year with overtime pay eligibility during the contract-to-hire phase.
  • Stable Work Schedule:
Standard day shift (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM) with regular working hours.
  • Direct Impact:
Step into a critical leadership role where your initiative and process optimization directly improve daily operations and patient care.
