Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient Pharmacy

About This Role

The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive medications safely and efficiently in an inpatient pharmacy setting. Working under the supervision of a pharmacist, this position prepares and dispenses medications, manages inventory, and supports patient care areas, directly impacting patient safety and pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

• Receive and enter medication orders into the pharmacy computer system
• Prepare medications and labels for accurate dispensing
• Deliver medications to patient care areas promptly
• Maintain drug inventory in dispensing areas
• Process medication charges for services rendered
• Keep appropriate records to ensure compliance and patient safety

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Pharmacy Technician License from the State of Michigan
• Ability to use a computer keyboard and type approximately 25 words per minute
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams and patients under stress

Nice to have:
