Job Description The Pharmacy Technician assist the pharmacist in process prescriptions, inventory control and customer service. This is a customer facing role located within a clinic. This is a part time role with the potential for hours to expand as the pharmacy business grows. Coverage for other technicians on PTO could also result in a need for additional hours.
The Pharmacy Technician
- Retrieves, counts, and measures drugs.
- Assists Pharmacist in ordering and restocking of drugs.
- Accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer.
- Refers physicians' calls and any medical questions to pharmacist.
- May operate a cash register.
- Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards.
- Follows standard policies/practices.
The Pharmacy Technician obtains new prescriptions and prescription refill information. The Pharmacy Technician performs daily pharmacy technician duties including various activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Interacts with patients and affiliate primary care clinic.
The Pharmacy Technician retrieves, counts, and measures drugs. Assists Pharmacist in price-checking and restocking of drugs. Accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer. Refers physicians' calls and any medical questions to pharmacist. May operate a cash register. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.
Required Qualifications
- 2 - 3 years of technical experience
- Less than 2 years of Professional leadership experience
- Must have an active license with the Board of Pharmacy in the appropriate state
- This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana/Senior Bridge's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Pay Rate Range 19 - 23 USD hourly
