About the role

Role Overview This leadership position oversees the operations, training, and development of a facility's pharmacy team, including pharmacists, technicians, and support staff, to ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily pharmacy support activities, performance metrics, and scheduling to ensure optimal coverage and service delivery.
  • Serve as Pharmacist in Charge when required, maintaining professional relationships and compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local pharmacy laws, developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Oversee security protocols to protect patient privacy, maintain records, and ensure licensure and registration renewals.
  • Lead staff development through onboarding, training, performance management, and fostering a diverse and motivated workplace.
  • Handle pharmacy-related customer service issues, monitor quality interactions, and resolve escalated concerns.
  • Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy practices, review training documents, and serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Provide leadership by modeling organizational values, facilitating continuous improvement, and developing performance standards and training programs.
  • Identify innovative solutions, analyze work-related problems, and ensure sustainable results.
  • Complete continuing education to maintain licensure and stay updated on industry standards.

Qualifications & Skills Registered pharmacist with ≥5 years of experience, current licensure across multiple states, and leadership experience in pharmacy operations. Strong data analysis, presentation skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required. Willingness to work flexible hours and travel up to 10% is expected.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or MBA, Lean Six Sigma certification, project management experience, and previous management roles are advantageous.
