About The Role The Managing Consultant, Advisors & Consulting Services, Performance Analytics at Mastercard plays a pivotal role in harnessing the power of data to generate actionable insights for our clients across various industries, including retail, finance, and media. This position involves leading complex data analysis projects, developing innovative analytical solutions, and delivering strategic recommendations to enhance business performance. The successful candidate will work closely with global clients and internal teams to understand their business needs, translate them into analytical frameworks, and produce high-quality reports and visualizations that inform decision-making. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and excellent stakeholder management skills to ensure the delivery of impactful analytics solutions that meet client expectations and drive long-term value.
Qualifications Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Operations Research. An advanced degree such as an M.S. or MBA is preferred. A minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in data mining, analysis, and modeling within retail or related industries is essential. Proven expertise in working with large datasets, developing analytical models, and delivering insights through reports and visualizations is required. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in SAS, SQL, MS Excel-VBA, and PowerPoint, with experience in Hadoop environments considered a plus. Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written, are vital for effective collaboration with global teams and clients. Additionally, familiarity with statistical methods, data validation, and operational systems will enhance suitability for this role.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on analysis of retailer databases using analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, R, Excel, and internal Mastercard tools to generate relevant and actionable insights.
- Manage and deliver projects independently, ensuring timely completion and high-quality outputs across varying levels of complexity.
- Conduct quality assurance of code and analytical products to maintain the highest standards.
- Translate business questions into comprehensive analysis briefs, contributing to strategic planning and analysis.
- Identify opportunities for automation and standardization to optimize analytical processes and solutions.
- Develop and improve analytical tools and methodologies to enhance team capabilities and operational efficiency.
- Maintain clear communication with business partners and clients regarding project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Participate in workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to continuously enhance team expertise.
- Work with Mastercard’s extensive data warehouse to deliver data extracts, visualizations, and detailed reports supporting consulting projects, campaign measurement, and predictive modeling.
- Support global advisory teams across North America, Europe, APMEA, and Latin America in delivering analytical solutions.
- Travel to client sites worldwide as required to facilitate project delivery and client engagement.
