Position Overview The Optometrist will initially work one day per week on a per diem basis , with the opportunity to expand to additional days as patient volume and the optical practice grow.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist looking for a flexible per diem schedule, supplemental income, or the opportunity to become involved in a new practice from its early stages.
The practice will provide the exam room, ophthalmic equipment, optical staff support, scheduling, and patient-facing operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations
- Perform refractions and prescribe corrective lenses
- Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions within scope of practice
- Perform routine glaucoma and ocular health assessments
- Conduct and/or supervise contact lens evaluations and fittings
- Educate patients regarding eye health and vision care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Collaborate with optical and pharmacy staff to provide an excellent patient experience
- Make appropriate referrals to ophthalmologists and other specialists when necessary
