About This Role
This People Partner role involves working closely with senior leaders and managers in a leading retail business to provide strategic and operational people support. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor, driving performance, engagement, and talent while ensuring consistent, commercially focused, and legally compliant people practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide proactive, commercially focused HR advice and coaching to managers and senior stakeholders
- Manage a broad range of employee relations matters, including conduct, capability, and attendance
- Support performance management and help managers build high-performing teams
- Develop and deliver people plans aligned to business priorities
- Lead talent mapping and succession planning across client groups
- Use engagement and exit data to identify trends and shape people initiatives
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development on recruitment, retention, and development
- Support annual compensation, reward, and benchmarking activity
- Use people data and insights to influence decisions and identify opportunities for improvement
- Contribute to wider People team projects and initiatives
Requirements
- Previous experience in a People Partner, HR Business Partner, or similar generalist role
- Strong employee relations experience and a good working knowledge of UK employment law
- Experience within retail, fashion, hospitality, or another fast-paced environment
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and coaching skills
- A commercial mindset with the ability to balance business priorities with a people-focused approach
- Strong analytical skills and confidence using people data to inform decisions
- An organised, pragmatic, and solutions-focused approach

- CIPD qualification or equivalent experience
