Payroll Specialist / Payroll Manager

About This Role

The Payroll Specialist / Payroll Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for the company and its subsidiary, serving as a key contact for employees and managers on all payroll-related matters. This role suits a detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in payroll accounting and relevant legal frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage the correct and timely payroll processing with DATEV Lohn & Gehalt for the company and its subsidiary
• Prepare payroll for the Austrian subsidiary
• Provide competent advice as a contact person for employees and managers on all questions regarding payroll, company social benefits, and company pension schemes
• Communicate with authorities, health insurance companies, and social security institutions, including the associated electronic reporting and data exchange
• Create personnel-related certificates, standard reports, individual evaluations, and statistics for transparency and a reliable data basis
• Actively support and accompany the necessary processes during company audits
• Collaborate on cross-departmental HR projects

Requirements

• Completed commercial training or degree in Human Resources Management or Economics with a focus on HR, or an additional qualification (e.g., payroll accountant, tax clerk)
• At least four years of professional experience in comprehensive payroll accounting
• Proficient in DATEV Lohn & Gehalt and in payroll processing for mini-jobbers and student workers
• Solid knowledge of labor, tax, and social security law, including reporting procedures and communication with authorities and social security institutions
• Meticulous, solution-oriented work style with high quality standards, even in complex cases and during intensive work phases
• Sense of responsibility, proactivity, and adherence to deadlines
• Strong communication skills, service orientation, and discretion in handling sensitive personal data
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken

• Experience with Personio
• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel)
• Good English language skills
