Payroll Specialist

About This Role

The Payroll Specialist supports comprehensive payroll operations in Argentina, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees. This role involves maintaining compliance with Argentine labor legislation and tax regulations, as well as client service level agreements. The specialist will collaborate closely with Human Resources, Finance, Time & Attendance, Benefits, and payroll vendors to deliver high-quality payroll services.

Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive payroll processing for Argentina in accordance with established payroll calendars
• Process new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, salary adjustments, bonuses, commissions, and other payroll-related changes
• Validate payroll input data to ensure integrity and accuracy before execution
• Calculate earnings, deductions, taxes, and mandatory legal contributions
• Provide support for off-cycle payrolls, retroactive payments, and payroll adjustments
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records in HR and payroll systems
• Perform payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies before final payroll closure
• Generate payroll reports for Human Resources, Finance, and other business stakeholders
• Ensure payroll documentation is maintained in accordance with company policies and audit requirements
• Ensure payroll processing complies with current Argentine labor legislation and legal regulations
• Support the generation of reports and submission of mandatory payments to relevant government authorities
• Maintain the confidentiality of employee payroll information
• Provide support in internal and external payroll-related audits
• Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries within agreed service levels
• Investigate and resolve payroll incidents in collaboration with Human Resources, Finance, Benefits, and external vendors
• Provide guidance on pay slips, payroll calculations, legal deductions, and payroll policies
• Perform quality controls and control activities related to payroll
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
• Participate in transition initiatives, knowledge transfer, and process documentation
• Keep Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation updated
• Collaborate with Human Resources, Finance, Tax, Benefits, Time & Attendance teams, as well as payroll vendors
• Support monthly and annual closing payroll activities
• Escalate payroll-related risks and incidents to management in a timely manner

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
