Payroll Specialist

About This Role

The Payroll Specialist runs payroll for the whole company and answers employees' questions about their pay slips. This role is the point of contact for payroll and HR administration for employees in Belgium and the Netherlands, ensuring all personnel files are followed up correctly, timely, and professionally. You will be part of the HR Benelux team, contributing significantly to daily payroll operations and the optimization of HR processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct payroll processing and meticulous follow-up of time registrations, absences, and leave requests
• Manage complete personnel administration, from onboarding to offboarding
• Answer employee questions about wages, contracts, insurance, holidays, company cars, and other HR-related topics
• Handle administrative follow-up of social files, mutual insurance applications, insurance, medical examinations, and contacts with external partners such as social secretariats and prevention services
• Correctly follow up on international employment formalities, such as LIMOSA and A1 applications
• Process HR-related administration and contribute to accurate reporting of HR data within the organization
• Actively participate in projects related to payroll, time registration, process optimization, and digitalization within HR after an induction period

Requirements

• Experience in payroll and HR administration, with proficiency in payroll processing and personnel administration
• Familiarity with Belgian social legislation, and preferably knowledge of Dutch payroll
• Eagerness to stay updated on new developments in social legislation
• Meticulous and detail-oriented work style
• Comfortable with numbers and proficient in Excel
• Ability to quickly learn new systems; experience with Protime, eBlox, Cobra, or Geodynamics is a plus
• Service-oriented approach, helping colleagues with discretion and professionalism
• Fluent in Dutch; knowledge of French is a plus
• Involved team player who takes responsibility, remains calm when priorities shift, and contributes ideas for improvements
