Payroll Specialist

About This Role

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing timekeeping and pre-payroll processing, ensuring that payroll calculations are timely, accurate, and compliant with company policies and government regulations. This role suits someone with a strong background in payroll administration and HR analytics.

Responsibilities

• Execute payroll processing and manage workflow to ensure all transactions are processed accurately and on schedule.
• Execute time and attendance processing and interface data with the payroll system.
• Review timesheets, wage computations, and related data to detect and reconcile any payroll discrepancies.
• Prepare and compute final pay for separating employees.
• Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding payroll, pay slips, and computations.
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
• Update and reconcile monthly bank statements in close coordination with the Finance department.
• Prepare journal entries and accruals to reconcile monthly payroll-related matters with Financial Accounting.
• Develop customized financial and operational reports as needed by management.
• Ensure proper taxation of employer-paid benefits.
• Process accurate garnishment calculations and ensure full compliance.
• Prepare and submit the Annual Alpha-List pursuant to Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) rules.
• Execute accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary.
• Maintain compliance for unclaimed payroll checks.
• Assist in the proper safekeeping and updating of personnel records for non-supervisory employees.
• Prepare payment requests for recruitment and job advertisement vendor services.

Requirements

• Graduate of Psychology, Human Resources, Information Technology, or any related courses.
• At least 5 years of experience in payroll administration and/or timekeeping and HR analytics.
• Proficient in MS Excel.
