- About the Opportunity:
The Payroll Associate is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely biweekly payroll processing for over 4,000 employees in a complex, multi-state environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining payroll accuracy, compliance, and controls, and serves as a resource for payroll-related issues while collaborating with HR, Benefits, and Finance teams.
- Responsibilities:
• Manage significant portions of the biweekly payroll cycle including audits, time validation, exception management, payroll validations, employee changes, and payroll close activities.
• Independently resolve complex payroll issues such as retroactive adjustments, multi-state taxation, timekeeping exceptions, and benefit deduction discrepancies.
• Perform detailed payroll reconciliations, variance analyses, and support general ledger tie-outs.
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Finance, and other stakeholders to identify root causes of payroll issues and implement process improvements.
• Maintain standard operating procedures, mentor junior payroll team members, and utilize payroll technology, Excel, and AI tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years of payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
• Strong knowledge of gross-to-net payroll concepts, timekeeping impacts, and multi-state compliance.
• Proficient in Excel including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data validation.
• Experience with payroll and HRIS systems; familiarity with ADP Vantage, Workforce, and Workday preferred.
• Analytical, detail-oriented with ability to resolve complex payroll cases independently.
• Effective communicator with commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Comfortable adopting new technologies and AI-enabled tools while maintaining controls.
- Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Salary range for US-based employees is $25.96 to $43.27 USD per hour, adjusted based on background, experience, location, and performance.
