About the role
Position Summary: Patient Safety Monitor, Part-time 32 hours per week. Evenings 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. Lawrence campus
Under the supervision of a registered nurse, as a Patient Safety Monitor you will provide one-to-one, two-to-one, or rounding observation of patients who have been deemed a safety risk to themselves and/or others. They assist in the provision of a safe and clean environment and provide assistance with activities of daily living, when appropriate. Communicates changes in behavior / activity to the registered nurse.
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- BCLS or Heart Savor certification
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide a safe environment
- Possesses the judgment and ability to effectively communicate observed changes Required training to be completed within 30 days:
- Completion of a certified crisis intervention training program
- Universal precautions and Infection control
- Seizure safety/protocols
- Fall protocols/prevention
- Restraints
- Suicide Precautions
Preferred:
- Clinical work experience
