We are looking for a Patient Financial Services Representative to join our team and serve as a key point of contact for patients regarding billing and financial questions.

Position Overview

The Patient Financial Services Representative will support patients with billing-related questions and help ensure a positive experience throughout the financial side of their care. This role requires someone with prior Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) experience who is also comfortable working directly with patients and handling sensitive financial conversations professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve patient billing-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage incoming phone calls, voicemails, and emails related to patient billing and financial questions.
  • Communicate clearly with patients regarding balances, billing questions, payments, and account concerns.
  • Research patient accounts and identify the appropriate resolution for billing issues.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve patient account discrepancies and billing concerns.
  • Document patient interactions and follow-up activities accurately.
  • Provide a professional, empathetic, and patient-focused experience during every interaction.
  • Escalate complex billing or account issues when appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Perform other Patient Financial Services and RCM duties as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Prior experience in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) .
  • Experience in healthcare billing, patient accounts, or medical billing .
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a patient-facing/customer service environment .
  • Ability to handle billing questions and potentially sensitive financial conversations professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple calls, voicemails, emails, and patient requests efficiently.
  • Proficiency with computers and standard office software.

Preferred

  • Experience working with behavioral health or mental healthcare billing .
  • Experience with insurance verification, claims, patient balances, or payment collection.
  • Experience with an EHR or healthcare billing system.
