About the role
Job Description As a Patient Care Technician, you will be an integral part of our patient care team, offering direct and indirect support to patients. Your role involves assisting with personal care needs, participating in the patient's care plan, and regularly communicating observations to the Clinical Associate. Additionally, you'll collect test specimens and perform limited laboratory services, ensuring accurate and timely results. We value your ability to provide friendly and prompt assistance while maintaining confidentiality and respect.
Responsibilities
- Perform direct and indirect patient care functions under licensed supervision.
- Assist patients with personal care needs and participate in the plan of care.
- Communicate observations and data to the Clinical Associate.
- Collect test specimens and perform limited laboratory services.
- Maintain confidentiality and provide respectful customer service.
- Work collaboratively as part of the care team to meet patient needs.
- Demonstrate flexibility, problem-solving skills, and good judgment.
- Proficiency in clinical applications is preferred, with training provided.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent is required.
- American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training within 1 year of hire.
- Ability to speak and write English fluently.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred.
- At least 8 weeks of Patient Care education or direct experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset.
- Interpersonal skills for effective communication.
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred but training is provided.
- Physical abilities to perform essential functions of the role.
