Patient Access Representative

About This Role

This patient access role is centered on welcoming and assisting patients at a medical practice, handling their check-in and check-out processes, and performing essential administrative tasks. It is ideal for an organized individual with strong customer service skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Practice Manager/Administrator or designee
• Check-in and check-out patients at assigned practice(s)
• Perform various operational support functions, including scheduling patient visits, tests, and surgical procedures
• Greet patients, answer, and direct telephone calls
• Perform various clerical and administrative functions
• Cover different offices as needed or directed

Requirements

• Equal to the completion of 4 years of high school
• Good computer and typing skills
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Good organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying exemption once hired

Nice to have:

• One year of medical office practice experience or graduation from a medical secretary program or the equivalent
