Duties
As a Student Intern (Meteorology), you will receive on-the-job training to acquire operational experience with the National Weather Service programs, policies, and procedures. You will receive training in the development of forecast products, performing a variety of studies and analyzing information of limited scope and complexity. You will perform standardized duties related to weather observations, research, methodology, collection of data, and other operations utilizing direct applications of basic meteorological principles and practices. You will utilize automation in performing assigned duties to generate information.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this internship is someone who is pursuing at least a bachelor's degree with a major in meteorology, atmospheric science, or other natural science oriented field.
Qualification Requirements:
To qualify at the GS-05 level:
Completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with major study or at least 24 semester hours in any combination of meteorology, mathematics, engineering, or physical science.
