We're looking for an experienced Pastry Chef / Baker to join the team at Circus Circus and Frasers Cafe in Mt Eden - someone who understands flavour, presentation, quality and, importantly, what makes a great Kiwi café cabinet.
This is a hands-on role for someone who loves creating food that looks fantastic, tastes even better, and keeps customers coming back for more.
You'll be responsible for producing a range of sweets, pastries, baking and savoury cabinet food, with plenty of opportunity to bring your own ideas and creativity to the menu.
What we're looking for
We want someone with strong New Zealand café experience who understands the pace, standards and style of a busy local café.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker or similar role in a busy NZ café
- Strong experience producing cabinet food, sweets, pastries and baking
- A genuine understanding of classic Kiwi baking and café favourites, while knowing how to give them a fresh, modern twist
- A great feel for flavour combinations, texture and presentation
- Creativity and the confidence to contribute ideas and develop new products
- High standards of consistency, quality and food presentation
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy café environment
- A positive, reliable and team-focused attitude
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic
- A passion for making food that customers notice and remember
