Pastry Chef

About This Role

This part-time role is for an experienced and passionate Pastry Chef to join a small kitchen team at Blossom, a relaxed fine dining restaurant. You will play an important part in developing and delivering the dessert offering, working with seasonal ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver high quality desserts, pastries and other sweet dishes to a consistently high standard
• Take responsibility for the pastry section during service
• Work closely with the kitchen team on new dishes and seasonal menu changes
• Assist with the development of creative and well balanced desserts
• Maintain excellent standards of presentation, consistency and attention to detail
• Manage stock and minimise waste within the pastry section
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and kitchen hygiene
• Work calmly and efficiently during busy services
• Support the wider kitchen team when required

Requirements

• Previous professional experience as a Pastry Chef is essential
• Strong knowledge of pastry, desserts and baking techniques
• Experience working in a restaurant or professional kitchen environment
• Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of presentation
• Able to work independently and take ownership of the pastry section
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a small team
• Organised, reliable and able to work calmly under pressure
• A genuine passion for food, pastry and hospitality
• An interest in seasonal ingredients and developing new ideas
• Flexibility to work peak service periods, including weekends
