About This Role
This Pastry Chef role involves creating exceptional experiences by preparing food for restaurants, banquets, and room service, while also ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. The position suits a chef with experience in a 5-star hotel or resort who can meet and exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Establish and communicate customer service objectives which support achievements of Timberland's Mission and Vision
- Monitor customer service levels in operations and counsel employees with alternative methods of responding to customer requests
- Determine customer delight level and needs by reviewing comment cards and talking to customers regularly
- Provide staff with the skills training to be able to provide value-added service to customers
- Assure adherence to Filinvest Hospitality's standards of food quality, preparation, recipes and presentation
- Supervise the proper setting up of each item on menus and ensure their readiness
- Store unused food properly to minimize waste and maximize quality
- Assure smooth kitchen operation by coordinating with related Food and Beverage departments
- Consult with individual outlet's supervisor about daily specials, rotation of products, and any upcoming special events
- Prepare list of perishable items on a daily basis at each outlet to ensure proper rotation and utilization
- Adjust production according to projected covers using function sheets, etc.
- Plan and requisition food as needed; discuss requisitions with the Executive Sous Chef
- Control food costs properly by maintaining accurate records of all food ingredients used
- Prepare and maintain recipe cards
- Prepare market lists
- Control and oversee the seasonings, portions and appearance of food served in the operation
- Obtain customer feedback
Requirements
- At least 1-year of actual experience as a Pastry Chef in a 5-star hotel or resort
