Partnerships Manager

About This Role

This Partnerships Manager role supports the commercial strategy, scientific mission, and growth priorities of a global nonprofit through business development, strategic partnerships, and related activities. The role involves working cross-functionally to identify, evaluate, and advance partnership and growth opportunities, while also supporting diligence, valuation, negotiations, governance, and implementation. It suits a candidate with experience in business development or strategic partnerships, ideally within life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, technology, academic, or research environments.

Responsibilities

• Research, identify, qualify, and engage prospective partners aligned with commercial strategy and portfolio priorities
• Conduct market research, competitive analyses, strategic-fit evaluations, business case development, financial modeling, valuation analyses, and risk assessments
• Coordinate scientific, commercial, financial, operational, legal, licensing, quality, and technology evaluations for partnerships
• Support partner discussions, negotiations, term-sheet development, opportunity planning, and execution activities across partnership initiatives
• Evaluate licensing, investment, joint venture, and related partnership opportunities while supporting diligence, valuation, recommendation development, and implementation planning
• Maintain partnership pipelines, reporting, governance activities, performance tracking, and status communications while identifying process improvement opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience, or equivalent experience (Master's degree and 6 years, PhD and 3 years, or HS Diploma and 12 years)
• Experience supporting business development, strategic partnerships, licensing, or related growth initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to conduct market research, competitive analyses, strategic assessments, business case development, financial modeling, valuation analyses, and risk assessments
• Experience coordinating cross-functional diligence activities involving commercial, financial, scientific, operational, legal, licensing, quality, or technology stakeholders
• Strong relationship-building, presentation, proposal development, negotiation support, and stakeholder communication skills
• Experience managing multiple projects, opportunity pipelines, timelines, dashboards, metrics, and executive reporting
• Scientific fluency with biological products, technologies, data, or related life sciences concepts
• Ability to represent an organization professionally in external meetings, conferences, and industry forums
