Hampton Inn by Hilton in Commack is seeking a dependable and hardworking Weekend Porter/Houseperson to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our guests while providing excellent customer service.
Position Summary:
The Porter/Houseperson provides janitorial and light maintenance support, ensuring all interior and exterior areas of the property remain clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times. This position also assists with guest requests and provides shuttle transportation to local train station and local airport.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Maintain cleanliness of all public areas, including lobby, hallways, restrooms, and exterior grounds
- Assist housekeeping team with linen delivery, trash removal, and special projects
- Perform basic maintenance tasks as assigned
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests
- Provide safe and courteous shuttle runs as needed
- Support overall hotel operations with a positive, team-oriented attitude
Requirements:
- Saturday and Sunday availability from 3–11 PM is mandatory
- Clean and valid driver’s license (required for shuttle services)
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and standing for long periods
- Strong work ethic and professional attitude
- Hospitality or janitorial experience preferred
- English required
- Must be reliable, courteous, and committed to excellent guest service
- Able and willing to communicate and interact with guests.
