Part Time Stock Controller Crate Washer

About This Role

This part-time role involves managing stock and washing crates for a family bakery. The Stock Controller will oversee the storage, organization, and movement of bakery products, ingredients, and supplies, ensuring stock availability and safe handling. It suits an organized, practical, and detail-focused individual who values accurate stock control, efficient processes, and high food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check, store, and rotate products using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method
• Track stock levels, record product movements, carry out physical stock checks, and report discrepancies
• Support deliveries, goods-in procedures, shop replenishment, and the efficient movement of supplies
• Maintain appropriate stock levels to meet production and shop requirements while minimizing excess stock and waste
• Ensure products and ingredients are stored correctly, rotated effectively, and checked so that expired items are not kept on site
• Support accurate stock reporting and monitor stock use and waste across the shops
• Keep storage areas clean, organized, and hygienic, following food safety and health and safety requirements
• Help ensure deliveries are received in good condition and supplies reach the right teams at the right time

Requirements

• Organized, reliable, and attentive to detail
• Can manage time effectively and work independently when required
• Takes pride in maintaining safe, clean, and well-organized storage areas
• Works well with bakery colleagues and management and communicates clearly
• Comfortable with a physically active role, including lifting and carrying products weighing up to 16 kg and standing for extended periods
• Positive attitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to work as part of the team

Nice to have:

• Experience in a warehouse, stock control, inventory, or bakery-related role
• Experience receiving, storing, rotating, or checking stock
• Experience with food safety, hygiene, and safe working practices
• Experience keeping records accurately and identifying stock discrepancies
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

Important Details

• Schedule: 24 hours per week, Monday - Thursday
