About the role
Role: Respiratory Therapist III responsible for delivering advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessments in complex critical care settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments, collaborate with healthcare teams, and verify orders for aerosolized medications, ventilator management, airway procedures, and pulmonary testing.
- Manage ventilators, interpret waveforms, and perform airway management including intubation and extubation.
- Educate patients, mentor new employees, and support staff development.
- Ensure high standards of patient safety, accurate documentation, and promote quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in invasive and non-invasive procedures and assist with cardiac and pulmonary diagnostics where applicable.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with a minimum of 20 science quarter hours.
- Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and relevant certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, with instructor or provisional status as specified.
- 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
Skills: Strong communication, critical thinking, teamwork, assessment, and computer skills, with an emphasis on patient-centered care and safety.
