About the role
Role Overview: This position involves functioning as a Cashier and/or Stocker, with responsibilities including assisting in store operations, merchandising, and customer service. The role may also entail acting in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload trucks, stock merchandise, rotate and face items on shelves, and maintain merchandise displays.
- Assist with order zones, implement plan-o-grams, and restock returned or recovered merchandise.
- Provide exceptional customer service by locating merchandise and assisting shoppers.
- Operate cash registers, handle transactions, collect payments, and bag items.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including dusting, mopping, trash removal, and restroom sanitation.
- Support store opening and closing procedures under managerial guidance.
- In the absence of managers, authorize refunds, oversee cash handling, and monitor store security.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proficiency in basic math, cash handling, and register operations.
- Knowledge of safety policies, cash control, and security procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and follow plan-o-grams and presentation standards.
Experience & Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with six months of supervisory or related experience advantageous.
