Role Overview
The RN Clinical Nurse in the Emergency Department is a vital part of an interdisciplinary team, providing high-quality, individualized patient care in a clinical environment supported by evidence-based practice and shared governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform nursing processes including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Deliver relationship-based, culturally sensitive, patient-centered care, partnering with patients and families to meet their goals.
- Coordinate and document safe, quality care through interdisciplinary communication and teamwork.
- Support professional development by mentoring, completing competency assessments, and participating in performance improvement activities.
- Promote evidence-based practice, research, and adherence to organizational policies and safety standards.
- Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum and assist in developing protocols aimed at improving outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associates or Bachelor's Nursing degree (preferred).
- Valid RN license (single state or multi-state compact).
- Minimum of 5 years RN experience.
- Required certifications: BLS, PALS, TNCC, ACLS (all current upon hire).
- Strong communication, critical thinking, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, emergency settings and utilize technology efficiently.
