About the role
Sylvan Learning of Grand Forks is seeking retired teachers and experienced educators to work with elementary-age students in reading and math.
We are especially interested in individuals who are available during the 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM time period on weekdays. Additional afternoon hours may also be available for those interested.
This position is ideal for retired elementary teachers, reading specialists, intervention teachers, special education teachers, and other experienced educators who enjoy working with children in a small-group learning environment.
Tutors will help elementary students strengthen foundational skills in reading, comprehension, phonics, vocabulary, and mathematics, while building confidence and positive learning habits.
Prior classroom teaching experience is strongly preferred. Applicants should be patient, dependable, encouraging, and comfortable working with young learners.

Position: Part-Time
Preferred Hours: Weekdays, especially 3:30 PM–4:30 PM
