About the role
Role Overview: Lead daily department operations in a retail store, ensuring staff training, full staffing, and achievement of company standards and goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inventory, order accuracy, and product quality through inventory control procedures.
- Oversee receipt validation, storage, and rotation of products, handling spoilage or damages appropriately.
- Lead a team in stocking, production, and other tasks to maintain product freshness and accuracy.
- Stay knowledgeable about store products, promotions, and sales programs.
- Execute weekly plans, manage scheduling, labor, and payroll in coordination with the department manager.
- Support staff development, performance management, and department goal setting.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, safety, PPE, and cleanliness standards.
- Participate in meetings and communicate company initiatives effectively.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked department, supporting guest experience and store standards.
- Assist with tasks in other departments as needed and perform additional duties.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Up to 2 years retail experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership capabilities with hands-on work approach.
- Knowledge of retail operations and management systems; suggestive selling knowledge preferred.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; bilingual skills in Spanish highly desirable.
Physical & Environment Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in varied temperatures and conditions typical of retail environments. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
