About the role
Role Overview: The CT Scan Technician performs a variety of CAT Scan procedures, prioritizing patient care and ensuring high-quality imaging outcomes.
Responsibilities Include
- Positioning patients and anatomical parts per standard protocols to obtain optimal results.
- Preparing patients and equipment for examinations, including contrast administration under radiologist guidance.
- Ensuring radiation safety and protecting reproductive organs with proper techniques.
- Assisting physicians during imaging procedures and maintaining sterile environments.
- Performing equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and keeping maintenance logs.
- Managing patient scheduling, contrast administration, and quality control of scans.
- Documenting procedures accurately in RIS, HIS, and PACS systems, and completing related clerical tasks.
- Explaining procedures to patients, answering questions, and instructing student technologists.
- Participating in shift rotations, including weekends and on-call duties, and attending training sessions.
Qualifications & Skills Must possess a New Jersey license, ARRT certification, and CT certification within 12-24 months of hire.
Minimum of three years hospital experience preferred, with the ability to work independently.
CPR certification or willingness to obtain within six months is required.
Strong technical skills, attention to detail, patient communication, and teamwork are essential.
