Paralegal - Immigration

About This Role

The Immigration Paralegal assists in preparing nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications for corporate and individual clients. This role involves managing high-volume client accounts and providing comprehensive immigration services, suiting a candidate with strong writing and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a wide variety of business-based nonimmigrant (H-1B, L-1, TN, E, and O-1) and immigrant (employment and family-based) petitions, including forms preparation and supporting documentation
• Manage high-volume corporate client accounts and work closely with clients to provide comprehensive immigration services
• Compile and maintain records of immigration filings, other documentation, and records of activity on behalf of clients
• Review immigration regulations and be able to apply them to various case scenarios
• Perform research using all available immigration research tools including government agencies' websites
• Write detailed and complex supporting argumentation

Requirements

• 3+ years of Business Immigration paralegal experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in a field emphasizing writing or communication
• Superior writing/editing skills for complex support letters and strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience with MS Office and expertise with computer assisted legal resources
• Ability to manage multiple high-volume priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional, cooperative, positive and flexible attitude
• Exhibit the ability to effectively multi-task, meet deadlines, and provide solutions in a fast-paced office setting
• Demonstrate good organizational skills for prioritizing workload
• Believe in the firm’s core values: integrity, respect, accountability, ingenuity, teamwork, and inclusion and engagement
• Complete a minimum 1400 billable hours annually

Important Details

• Work format: Hybrid opportunity available
• Anticipated weekly schedules: New York City, NY: 40 hours/week; Boston, Massachusetts: 35 hours/week
