About This Role

This painting job involves preparing surfaces, choosing the right materials, applying paint and other finishes, and ensuring high-quality work. The role is suitable for a skilled and experienced painter to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks and holes, and applying primers and sealants
• Select, mix and prepare paints, varnishes, stains and other finishing materials
• Apply paint and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment and other appropriate tools
• Measure and mix paint to achieve the required colours, consistency and finish
• Apply protective coatings and decorative finishes in accordance with project requirements
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met and rectify imperfections where necessary
• Maintain painting tools and equipment and keep work areas clean and organised
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment
• Work effectively with team members to complete projects within required timeframes

Requirements

• A relevant Certificate IV qualification in painting, decorating or a related field, or at least three years of full-time relevant work experience as a Painter
• Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation and finishing methods
• The ability to select and use painting materials, tools and equipment safely
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Good time management and organisational skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• An understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
