About the role

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer to support sustaining engineering and new product packaging initiatives within Pharmaceutical R&D team. This role will focus on packaging design, packaging process improvements, change control, qualification activities, compliance, and cost-saving initiatives while supporting both existing and new product packaging programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support packaging engineering projects related to Quality, CAPA, Regulatory Compliance, Supplier Change Notifications, Cost Savings, and New Product Introductions.
  • Design, develop, and improve primary and secondary packaging systems for pharmaceutical products.
  • Develop packaging test protocols and support packaging verification and validation activities.
  • Manage packaging change controls and coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Suppliers.
  • Develop packaging specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Evaluate and approve new packaging materials, components, and packaging systems.
  • Support manufacturing plants during packaging process qualification and implementation.
  • Perform packaging investigations and implement corrective actions using DMAIC and Lean methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or a related Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical, or similar).
  • 5+ years of Packaging Engineering experience.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical or medical device packaging development.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging materials and packaging processes.
  • Experience with packaging verification, validation, and qualification.
  • Experience managing engineering change controls.
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience managing multiple engineering projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
  • Knowledge of packaging regulations and quality systems.
