About This Role
This energetic role is a vital part of efficient warehouse operations, responsible for accurately handling, sorting, and processing packages to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages using material handling equipment such as forklifts and manual tools, ensuring safe operation at all times
- Sort shipments accurately based on destination, size, and priority, utilizing shipment sorting systems and manual procedures
- Prepare packages for shipping by labeling, filing, and documenting shipment details in data entry systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Operate automatic inserting machines for mail processing and assist with mail distribution tasks within the warehouse
- Maintain organization of warehouse storage areas, ensuring materials are stored securely and efficiently for easy access
- Assist with inventory management through regular stock counts, filing records, and updating warehouse databases
- Support shipping & receiving processes by coordinating load & unload activities, verifying shipment contents, and ensuring proper documentation
Requirements
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and consistently throughout the shift
- Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts or similar machinery (certification preferred)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry, filing, and shipment sorting
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipment quantities
- Excellent customer service mindset when interacting with team members or external partners during mail distribution or shipment handling
- Comfortable working outdoors when needed and able to adapt to various warehouse environments
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel) for record keeping and reporting
Nice to have:
- Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations
