About This Role
Driving commercial vehicles to transport freight safely and efficiently across various routes is the core of this role. It suits a dedicated Owner Operator / Truck Driver with strong driving skills, experience with heavy equipment, and a commitment to safety and reliability. You will manage your own schedule while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining vehicle compliance, working independently with the support of a professional logistics network.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and freight vehicles over designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load, unload, and secure freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met
- Perform basic automotive repairs or coordinate repairs with authorized service providers to maintain vehicle readiness
- Manage documentation related to deliveries, including manifests, bills of lading, and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transit
- Assist with heavy equipment operation when required for loading or unloading freight
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior to promote safety and professionalism
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as forklifts is advantageous
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and compliance standards in transportation
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and work in various weather conditions
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently
