Responsibilities
- Safely operate your tractor-trailer, including flatbed configurations, ensuring compliance with all federal and state transportation regulations
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity
- Secure loads properly on flatbeds or other trailers to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and readiness for each journey
- Manage route driving effectively by planning optimal paths to meet delivery schedules while adhering to hours-of-service regulations
- Deliver freight to various locations, including handling specialized loads like refrigerated goods or tanker materials when required
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for each trip
Requirements
- Proven experience as a truck driver with a focus on flatbed, tanker, or refrigerated trailer operations
- Demonstrated ability to drive manual transmission trucks confidently and safely
- Prior delivery driver experience involving load and unload procedures and route driving in diverse environments
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety protocols for tractor-trailer operations
- Skilled in operating equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks when necessary for loading or unloading cargo
- Experience handling freight that requires securement on flatbeds or specialized trailers like roll-off trucks
- Strong understanding of load securement techniques and safety standards for freight transportation
